COVID 19 2020 Glen Mills, PA (Philly area)
Feeding volunteers needed for Glen Mills,
PA now through September.
We will be supporting our Penn/S.Jersey DR partners who have asked for
help. The PA Department of Health (DHS) has set up a temporary
intermediate care hospital in Glen Mills, PA for non-COVID patients who
are rehabbing to go home. DR feeding teams have been asked to prepare 3
meals daily for patients and staff over the course of the next 26 weeks.
We will be rotating in our volunteers to assist the 3rd week of every
month from now until September UNLESS MARYLAND OR DELAWARE NEED US TO
We will be using an industrial kitchen in the facility. Housing will be
provided on-site. Each person or couple/household unit will have their
own room with bunk beds. Restrooms and showers will be on each hall.
As per DHS request, the size of the teams will be limited and volunteers
must commit to the full week (no part-weeks). Volunteers will report
onsite by 9 pm Saturday to begin work early Sunday. Volunteers are free
to leave the following Sunday after lunch is cleaned up, probably before

Because this is a medical facility, everything must be done in a safe
and sanitary way.
Self screen before you proceed: Do you feel well now? If yes, have you
felt ill, had a fever, persistent cough, shortness of breath or been
sick in the last 14 days? If yes, stay home for 14 days then repeat the
self-screening. Have you had surgery in the last 3-6 months? If yes,
consult your doctor before signing up. Have you been exposed to anyone
who has tested positive or is currently being tested for COVID-19? If
yes, consult your doctor, wait 14 days and repeat the self-screening.
Are you physically able to exert yourself for 8 long days? If no, this
is not for you. Do you have chronic health issues or mobility problems?
If yes, choose another avenue of service. If you think the CDC and state
Dept. of Health guidelines on personal hygiene and social distancing
are overblown and unnecessary, please do not volunteer for this
